Crews will begin multi-week, non-live fire training operations at the former Shelby Apartments, located at 100 Easton Road.
Residents may notice increased emergency activity in the coming weeks as local fire personnel conduct training exercises at a vacant apartment complex.
Officials announced that crews will begin multi-week, non-live fire training operations at the former Shelby Apartments, located at 100 Easton Road. The exercises are designed to enhance and refresh critical fire and rescue skills in a realistic structural environment.
According to the Horsham Fire Department, the training will not involve live fire, but will include the presence of fire trucks, equipment, and personnel on site. Residents are advised not to be alarmed by the activity.
The initiative is being conducted with support from local officials, including Larry Burns, and the Township’s Department of Economic Development. The use of the vacant building allows firefighters to train in real-world conditions that are difficult to replicate elsewhere.
Fire officials say the exercises are an important part of maintaining readiness and ensuring crews are prepared for emergencies in the community.
Residents with questions about the training activities can contact Lieutenant Brian Focht of the Horsham Fire Department at [email protected].
