County residents using Recorder of Deeds new texting option

Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg has launched text messaging for residents’ office requests. A line at 267-355-3404 was established on April 1 as a convenient way for county residents to communicate with the Recorder of Deeds office.

In the first month, the office answered text messages from 48 customers. Text messages varied from basic questions, such as the office hours and how to buy a copy of a deed, to very specific questions about the REV-183 form and recording requirements.

“My staff provides fantastic customer service whether on the phone or in-person, and I want customers to know they have every possible option to get ahold of my office,” said Sorg. “We know not everyone has time during their day to make a phone call, especially for a simple question. Just send us a text at 267-355-3404!”

Text messaging is monitored Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and responses are prompt. Messages received outside of these hours and on county holidays will be answered the next business day.
