Abington Police responded to a report of a small fire at the Willow Grove Park Mall on May 2 at approximately 5:00 p.m., marking the second such incident at the mall within the past week.
Officers were dispatched to the Macy’s store, where the fire was located inside a second-level restroom. Emergency responders quickly brought the situation under control, extinguishing the fire within a short period of time.
As a precaution, a limited section of the mall was temporarily evacuated while authorities ensured the area was safe. No injuries were reported.
The incident follows a separate fire reported on April 26, which involved a photo booth inside the mall. Officials have not yet indicated whether the two fires are connected.
Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public. Both incidents remain under investigation.
