MIAMI – Take a good look at the outfield the Phillies deploy Saturday night vs. the Marlins. There's a good chance it will be the only time you see it.
Justin Crawford was a late scratch for Saturday's game with a migraine. While Brandon Marsh could be available as a pinch hitter and/or runner for the game, he's also out of the lineup after getting drilled on his right elbow with a pitch Friday. So the Phillies will now open this game with Garrett Stubbs in left field, Adolis García in center field and Felix Reyes in right field.

It's unclear if Crawford will be available off the bench at any point Saturday. Reyes has never played right field in his brief MLB career. Stubbs, a natural catcher, has 32 2/3 career innings in left field — and did see time in left field with Triple-A Lehigh Valley earlier this year – but he'll be starting at a position he hasn't played in the majors since 2023. Ditto for García, who last played center field in 2023 with the Texas Rangers. For what it's worth, García has five defensive runs saved and seven outs above average in center field in his career, per FanGraphs.
All of this will come, ironically, while Andrew Painter is on the mound. Painter was scratched from his scheduled March 12 start against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a migraine, although he rallied to pitch five innings in relief that day.
