The Hatboro Police Department has been reaccredited by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC), marking continued compliance with statewide professional policing standards as of April 23, 2026.
The reaccreditation follows a comprehensive review process conducted by PLEAC, which evaluates law enforcement agencies on more than 130 standards. These standards cover a wide range of operational and administrative areas, including policy development, training, accountability measures, and community engagement practices.
According to the department, the reaccreditation reflects its ongoing efforts to maintain professional standards and strengthen public trust through consistent policy adherence and operational best practices.
Police Chief Mark D. Ruegg said the achievement recognizes the work of department personnel and community partners, noting the agency’s continued focus on providing professional and responsive service to the borough.
PLEAC accreditation is valid for a three-year period, during which agencies must maintain compliance and undergo continued review to ensure standards are upheld.
The Hatboro Police Department stated it remains committed to ongoing evaluation and improvement of its policies and services in support of the community it serves.
