The Hatboro-Horsham School District planned an “AI Expo and Playground” event for April 23, 2026, intended to give students a hands-on experience with artificial intelligence and emerging technology.

However, due to scheduling, the event has been postponed, school officials said.

"Due to feedback that this time of year presents a number of competing events and commitments for our families, the AI Expo and Playground originally scheduled for April 23 will be postponed," school officials wrote.

The event is part of the district’s broader push to expand innovative learning opportunities in STEM and technology-related fields. The district and related educational partners, including the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation, have increasingly supported programs involving robotics, STEM learning, and interactive technology experiences in classrooms. These initiatives include tools like LEGO robotics, drones, and other experiential learning grants designed to introduce students to modern tech skills and digital creativity.

The AI Expo and Playground was expected to follow that same model, offering an interactive, “playground-style” environment where students could explore AI tools, demonstrations, and possibly hands-on activities rather than a traditional lecture format. The goal was to make artificial intelligence more accessible, engaging, and educational for students across the district.

"We are excited about the potential of this event and want to ensure it is well attended and meaningful for our community," HHSD officials wrote. "We will look to reschedule for the fall and will share new details once a date is confirmed."
