A driver is facing DUI and other charges after allegedly flipping an SUV and fleeing the scene Monday night in the Hatboro section of Upper Moreland Township, according to authorities.

Police say the crash occurred around 8:34 p.m. on April 13 near Byberry Road and Davisville Road, where a 9-1-1 caller reported a vehicle overturned onto its roof.

Officers arrived to find a black Kia Sportage fully flipped over in the 2400 block of Byberry Road. Dispatchers also relayed that the driver had fled on foot into a nearby yard.

While searching the area, officers spotted a man matching the caller’s description, wearing an orange sweatshirt and gray pants, walking along Winding Road. He was identified as Denys Lisovskyi, 32, of Philadelphia.

Police reported a strong odor of alcohol and said the man had glassy eyes. A witness was brought to the scene and positively identified Lisovskyi as the driver who fled from the overturned SUV.

Lisovskyi was taken into custody and later consented to a blood test, which was administered at a nearby police department. Authorities said he did not report any injuries despite the severity of the crash.

According to investigators, the vehicle involved had an expired registration.

Lisovskyi has been charged with: Driving under the influence, Accidents involving damage to property, and Driving an unregistered vehicle

Officials said he does not have prior DUI convictions, but is currently out on bail related to separate incidents. He was transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility for arraignment.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. before Judge Thomas P. Murt.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
