A man and a woman are facing felony charges after authorities in Abington Township discovered of a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm during a late-night traffic stop in the Willow Grove section of Abington Township, according to police.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:12 p.m. on March 22 along the 1800 block of Old York Road, where an officer observed a grey Chrysler 300 traveling northbound with window tinting that obstructed visibility into the vehicle. A registration check revealed the vehicle was unregistered, leading to a stop.
Police identified the driver as Emily Nickerson, 31, of Aston, who, according to officials, was unable to provide a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance.
After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, officers say they uncovered multiple forms of suspected methamphetamine, including powder and crystallized substances stored in separate containers, along with a larger quantity of unpackaged material. Investigators also reported finding an additional bag of suspected methamphetamine on Nickerson’s person.
A second occupant, identified as Jason Palmarino, 32, of Drexel Hill, was also investigated at the scene. Authorities report that Palmarino was found in possession of a smoking pipe, while an additional pipe and an electronic scale were recovered from the vehicle. Police state that the quantity of methamphetamine and presence of the scale suggest an intent to distribute.
During the investigation, officers also located an unregistered firearm within Palmarino’s immediate area. According to authorities, Palmarino is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior felony status and does not have a valid license to carry.
A search of a third occupant, Shawn Moore, 30, of Philadelphia, revealed additional methamphetamine and another firearm, which he does not posses a valid permit to carry.
Authorities believe the volume of methamphetamine and the presence of the scale indicate the substances were intended for both personal use and distribution.
Nickerson, Palmarino and Moore were taken into custody and now face multiple charges related to drug possession and intent to deliver, along with traffic-related violations.
Nickerson was unable to post bail, which was set at $10,077. Palmarino's bail was set at $25,000. Moore's bail was set at $45,077.00.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. before Judge John D. Kessler.
