Members of Hatboro Borough Council recognized Councilman George Bollendorf during a meeting on March 23, 2026, honoring his more than eight years of service to the borough.
Bollendorf was first elected in 2018 and went on to serve as Council President from January 2018 through December 31, 2025. During his tenure, officials said he played a key role in supporting the work of every council committee, helping guide decision-making and ensuring collaboration across borough leadership.
In addition to his work on council, Bollendorf was credited with launching the Pennypack Events Committee, which helped bring a number of popular community events to Hatboro. These included Sip N Shops, Parties in the Park, local fireworks celebrations, and the annual Hat Drop.
He also played an instrumental role in the creation of the Gold Star Garden located in Miller Meadow, a space dedicated to honoring service and sacrifice.
Borough officials noted that Bollendorf will be stepping down from his role as he prepares to move away from Hatboro, making him ineligible to continue serving on council. His departure, they said, marks the end of a period of dedicated leadership and community involvement.
Council members, along with Mayor Schultz and borough staff, expressed their gratitude for Bollendorf’s contributions and lasting impact.
His commitment to the borough and its residents, officials said, will be greatly missed.
