A local man is facing charges following a one-vehicle crash in the Willow Grove section of Abington Township late last month, according to authorities.
Police say the incident occurred on Feb. 27 at the intersection of Easton Road and Moreland Road, a busy area in Willow Grove. Officers were initially dispatched for a report of a single-vehicle accident involving a black Ford F-150 that was found unoccupied at the scene.
According to court documents, the vehicle had struck a light pole and caused visible damage. Investigators later identified the registered owner as Craig Poles, 70, of Willow Grove, whose listed address is on Lamott Avenue.
While responding to the crash, officers went to the registered address, where they found Poles sitting on the steps outside the residence. Police reported he appeared injured, with a cut lip and blood coming from his mouth.
Authorities say Poles admitted to being involved in the crash and told officers he had walked home from the scene after the collision.
During the interaction, officers noted a strong odor of alcohol and observed what they described as signs of impairment, including slurred speech, glassy eyes, and difficulty maintaining balance.
Surveillance footage from a nearby building on Moreland Road reportedly captured the incident. Police say the video shows the pickup truck traveling north on Easton Road before striking the light pole at the intersection. Investigators allege the driver did not attempt to report the crash or the resulting damage.
Based on the investigation, authorities have filed charges against Poles. An affidavit of probable cause was submitted by Andrew Stahl, who stated the information in the report is true to the best of his knowledge.
Poles is facing multiple charges stemming from the incident.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April, 9, 2026 at 9:45 a.m. before Judge John D. Kessler.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
