Here are some key notes to know about the current uniform rotation for the Phillies.
The Phillies currently have five uniforms — red pinstripes, grays, creams, powder blues and City Connects.

The Phillies wear their red pinstripes for all night games at Citizens Bank Park, excluding ones played on Thursdays and Fridays. They are also always worn for the home opener, regardless of what day/time the game is at. Additionally, they wore them on July 4, 2025 — despite it being a day game on a Friday afternoon — seemingly because they are the most patriotic looking ones.
These uniforms were introduced as the new primary home threads of the Phillies in 1992. Through the 2022 season, they had the number of each player on the left sleeve. However, that was removed in 2023 to open up space for a jersey ad patch.

The Phillies wore creams as their primary home uniforms from 1946-1949. They are based off of the home uniforms that the team donned from 1946-1949 (seen above).

One of the most iconic uniforms in MLB history, these powder blues with maroon caps were the primary road uniforms of the Phillies from 1972-1988.
The Phillies added them back to the rotation on a full-time basis in 2018, wearing them for Thursday games at Citizens Bank Park. They were also worn on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, when the Phillies honored the 1980 World Series team, which, of course, wore these unis on the road.
Out of the blue, pun not intended, the Phillies got permission from MLB to wear their powder blues for Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS at Dodger Stadium in 2025, rather than their gray road jerseys.

The gray uniforms are the primary road threads for the Phillies, and were introduced with the pinstripes in 1992.
Like with the pinstripes, they had the number of each player on the left sleeve from 1992-2022.
The Phillies have worn their road grays for all regular season games over the last two seasons, but opted not to wear them in favor of powder blue during last year's NLDS.

The uniforms are based off of the colors of Philadelphia's city flag. The "Philly" script across the chest is in a gothic font designed to look like writing in the constitution or one of the other historical documents signed in Philadelphia. Inside each letter are Liberty Bell cracks. There are a slew of other Easter eggs in the midnight navy gradient uniforms:

While young fans have definitely embraced these jerseys (which was probably the goal), they've drawn, at best, a mixed reception from adults. While they do have a tie to Philadelphia, they don't necessarily make you feel like you're watching the Phillies.
The MLB City Connect program began in 2021, and many of the early participants — the Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals, Miami Marlins, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres and Chicago Cubs among them — have now retired their original designs. That suggests these threads will be in rotation for the Phillies for three or four seasons.
The Phillies haven't worn their red jerseys since 2023. (Dale Zanine/Imagn Images)In 2016, the Phillies introduced these red tops as their Spring Training jerseys. They also wore them as a weekday alternate for games at Citizens Bank Park during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. After a few years on the shelf in the regular season, the red tops returned as a road alternate in June of 2021, worn as the "getaway day" jerseys for the final game of most road series.
They were retired both for Spring Training and the regular season after the 2023 season, as the Phillies needed to get in compliance with Nike's "4+1" rule, which allows clubs to have four uniforms, and a fifth if it's a City Connect. The last time they were worn was a Game 5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 NLCS.

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) became the jersey sponsor of the Phillies beginning on July 31, 2024. The health insurance company's patch is featured on whatever the more dominant sleeve is for a player. So as you can see above, the left-handed hitting Kyle Schwarber has it on his right sleeve, while the right-handed hitting Trea Turner has it on his left sleeve.
