A Philadelphia man is facing a felony charge after police found a large quantity of THC-infused baked goods packaged in a manner consistent with distribution, according to authorities.
Devonta Peterie, 25, of Philadelphia, is facing a felony charge related to possession and intent to distribute THC products stemming from the incident.
The incident occurred around 12:12 a.m. on March 16 along Old Welsh Road near Marian Road, when an officer conducted a stop on a maroon Dodge Charger for alleged vehicle and licensing violations.
The officer reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle, which resulted in a search that led to the discovery of a white box containing 26 THC-infused baked goods (14 cookies and 12 brownies) each individually wrapped in clear bags.
According to police, the items were sealed separately and labeled with “Thank You” stickers, a packaging style commonly associated with resale. Based on the quantity and presentation of the baked goods, officers believe the products were intended for distribution rather than personal use.
In addition to the edibles, officers recovered a total of $2,980 in cash in mixed denominations, which authorities say further supports the allegation of multiple transactions.
Bail was posted, which was set at $20,000.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. before Judge John D. Kessler.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
