Hawks Challenger Football Night invites kids with special needs to hit the field

Each athlete will be paired with a Hawks buddy, a volunteer who helps guide and encourage players throughout the activities

  • Sports

The Hatboro-Horsham Hawks is inviting families and volunteers to take part in Hawks Challenger Football Night, an inclusive event designed for children with special needs and disabilities.

The event takes place on May 15, at 6 p.m., at Hatboro Horsham Hawks Field, located at 273 Lower State Road, North Wales.

Each athlete will be paired with a Hawks buddy, a volunteer who helps guide and encourage players throughout the activities. Organizers say the goal of the Challenger program is to create a welcoming environment where every child can participate in football while building friendships and confidence.

Families interested in having a child participate, as well as community members who would like to volunteer as a buddy, are asked to complete the event registration form in advance.

The event will take place in North Wales and is part of the organization’s efforts to expand inclusive opportunities for young athletes in the community.

Those interested in participating or volunteering as a buddy can sign up here

The event will give participants the opportunity to enjoy a fun night of flag football, teamwork and community support.
