The Freezer 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk is set to return after a postponement of about a month.
After postponing the annual race due to inclement weather, Horsham Township officials and its residents are now ready to run (or walk) for a good cause.
The event will take place on Sunday, Jan. 18, starting at 8:30 a.m. with on-site registrations.
All other race details, including day-of registration, check-in times, start times, and locations, have remained unchanged.
"Thank you for your understanding, patience, and flexibility," Horsham Township officials said. "We look forward to seeing everyone on the rescheduled race day for a safe and successful event."
The Freezer 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk offers residents a festive way to stay active while supporting local families and parks, even though the holiday season may have passed.
The event still offers benefits. Proceeds from the event will help “fill the freezer” for Horsham families in need this holiday season and also benefit the Horsham Parks and Recreation Department. Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation to the event. Those who donate will receive a surprise coupon from a local Horsham business.
The race follows the scenic powerline trail, with the certified 5K course starting and finishing at Simmons Elementary School on Babylon Road. The event is open to all experience levels, welcoming seasoned runners, casual walkers and families with strollers.
