Sirens sounded thousands of times across Horsham in 2025, and the Horsham Fire Company was there to answer every one of them.
During a recent township council orientation and tour, local officials got a firsthand look at the scope of that service, as new data revealed just how busy the department has become. Over the past year, firefighters and EMS personnel responded to more than 5,000 combined emergency incidents, including 830 fire dispatches and 4,211 EMS calls, while also providing mutual aid to neighboring communities more than 1,100 times.
During the visit, council members met with firefighters and emergency medical personnel, learning firsthand about daily operations, equipment, training efforts, and the growing demand for emergency services across the township. Officials expressed strong appreciation for the commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the department’s members.
By the Numbers
Statistics from 2025 reveal just how active the department has been.
The numbers show a steady rise in emergency medical calls, which continue to make up the majority of responses handled by the department. Mutual aid responses also highlight the company’s regional role, assisting neighboring communities when additional support is needed.
Beyond responding to calls, firefighters and EMS personnel dedicate countless hours to training, equipment maintenance, community outreach, and preparedness initiatives, efforts that often go unseen but are critical to maintaining rapid response capabilities.
Township officials noted that the average response time of just over six minutes reflects both strong coordination and the commitment of volunteers and career personnel alike.
