Horsham Township’s Public Works Department has been working through the night to keep roads clear and residents safe during the latest winter storm that blanketed the area on Sunday.
According to township officials, with snowfall is now expected to end and taper off around the afternoon on Monday, which will allow crews to perform a final cleanup across the township later this afternoon. The final pass is anticipated to continue until 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"Our public works team has done a very good job on the primary and secondary roads," Horsham ChATs said in an announcement. "They were even able to get a first pass on many of the cul-de-sac neighborhoods."
Officials are asking residents to give plows room to work and to show appreciation for the crews’ efforts. “If you see them out there, wave or give them a thumbs up for their dedication and commitment to our community,” the township said.
Residents should expect additional snow in their driveways during the final cleanup and are encouraged to be patient.
"Yes, you probably will get more snow in your driveway with the final cleanup," township officials said. "Please be patient and kind."
Township leaders also urged neighbors to help one another, especially elderly or disabled residents, by shoveling sidewalks and driveways.
Residents are also reminded not to forget fire hydrants near their homes.
