A staff member at Hatboro-Horsham High School has been placed on administrative leave after district officials became aware of what they described as concerning social media activity, according to a message sent to families.

The Hatboro-Horsham School District notified parents and guardians that it learned of the posts Friday morning and has initiated a formal investigation into potential policy violations. The posts reportedly included political messaging critical of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Republican officials.

The staff member in the social media post was identified as Chris Baker, who, according to his public social media profile, serves as a medical, anatomy, and physiology instructor at the high school. The social media post in question can be seen here.

District officials said the staff member has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is conducted in accordance with district policies, procedures, and applicable law.

“We take the investigation into potential policy violations very seriously,” the district said in its communication to families, adding that the matter is being handled as a confidential personnel issue.

Administrators did not release additional details about the posts or the investigation timeline.

“Our top priority remains providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students,” the district wrote, thanking families for their understanding as the review moves forward.

The district has not indicated when the investigation is expected to conclude or whether further action may be taken.

Many parents took to social media to express their opinions about the District's decision.

One parent wrote, "I don’t see a problem. I see free speech. I don’t see any threats or anything that should be concerning."

"Should be fired. This is unacceptable," another wrote.

"No call for violence and exercising his first amendment right," another user wrote. "You may or may not agree with the message but it’s his right to say what he wants."
