A Hatboro man is facing multiple charges after police say he attempted to flee during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon while officers were trying to take him into custody on an active arrest warrant.
According to Hatboro Police Department, the incident occurred on Feb. 11, 2026, at approximately 12:33 p.m. at the intersection of East County Line Road and Oakdale Avenue.
An HPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle connected to an individual with an active arrest warrant. During the stop, police confirmed that the driver, identified as Scott Myers, had an outstanding warrant from the State of Delaware.
Authorities allege that when officers attempted to take Myers into custody, he shifted the vehicle into drive and tried to flee while an officer was partially inside the open driver’s window. The vehicle became disabled, preventing the escape attempt, police said.
Officers further reported that Myers physically resisted arrest and assaulted officers as they attempted to place him in handcuffs. Police were ultimately able to gain control of Myers and take him into custody.
Myers has been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer (F1) and five additional charges. He was arraigned and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after being unable to post bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Stephens at District Court 38-1-22.
