The Hatboro-Horsham School District Food Service Department is now accepting applications for the position of Catering Coordinator / Cook. This role supports district-wide catering needs while also contributing to the daily operations of school kitchens.
The Catering Coordinator / Cook is responsible for managing large-scale catering events, including school meetings, banquets, and other special functions. Duties include planning menus, preparing food, overseeing presentation and service, and maintaining accurate records for billing and event tracking.
In addition to catering responsibilities, the position involves preparing meals according to standardized recipes, following proper sanitation and safety procedures, monitoring food temperatures, storing items correctly, operating kitchen equipment safely, and assisting in various food service areas as needed.
The position offers a starting hourly rate of $17.86, with increases based on experience, plus a $3.00 stipend for catering duties. The role is district-wide and reports to the Food Service Director.
The ideal candidate will be able to have active movement on a regular basis, must be able to use hands, to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., frequent carrying up to 25 lbs., ability to bend, stoop, and twist, ability to climb, kneel, and squat, and an ability to push, pull, and lift.
