Residents in Horsham Township may notice heightened military activity and increased noise levels through Sunday as personnel at Biddle Air National Guard Base conduct a large-scale readiness exercise, officials said.
The township issued an alert advising the community that the activity is part of a scheduled Combat Readiness Inspection being carried out by the 111th Attack Wing. The exercise is designed to evaluate operational preparedness and ensure Airmen are able to respond effectively to real-world missions, according to officials.
During the training period, residents living near the base may see an increased presence of emergency response vehicles, including fire and rescue units, along with helicopter operations and simulated training sounds. Temporary gate closures and traffic adjustments in the surrounding area are also possible as part of the exercise
Township officials stressed that the activity is planned and controlled, and that access to the installation will be restricted to authorized personnel only throughout the duration of the inspection.
Officials are encouraging residents to remain aware of the activity but not alarmed, noting that such exercises are a routine part of maintaining military readiness.
