The search for a missing peacock in Lower Moreland Township entered its third day as authorities enlisted area residents to alert them to any sightings.

Officers initially “responded to the report of a loose peacock” in a residential area near the intersection of Frederick and Robert roads; however, police said that “the peacock could not be captured.”

“LMPD consulted with wildlife experts, who concluded that the peacock may roam the area, as they believe the peacock will return back to its home. Should any resident see the Peacock, please do not attempt to capture as it can/may become aggressive during this time of the year,” police said in an April 2 statement.

The law enforcement agency “will be monitoring the situation.” A spokesperson encouraged anyone with knowledge of the peacock’s owner to contact the department so officers “can help reunite them [with] their pet."

The non-emergency dispatch line is at 610-635-4300, and the facility is located at 640 Red Lion Road, No. 1, in Huntingdon Valley.
