The driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a juvenile bicyclist injured earlier last week has been identified, according to police.
Officers from the Hatboro Police Department were dispatched around the afternoon of March 30 to the intersection of South York Road and School Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. When police arrived, they learned the driver had fled the scene.
The vehicle ws described as a black SUV, possibly a Toyota or Toyota Highlander, with a partial license plate beginning with “MTX.” Police say the vehicle was driven by a white female.
Investigators reviewed video footage of the incident, which showed the SUV striking the bicyclist in the middle of the intersection. The driver briefly pulled over following the crash, but then left the scene, heading north on South York Road.
The investigation remains ongoing.
