Residents in part of Horsham Township may notice temporary water discoloration this week as crews perform overnight system maintenance.
The Horsham Water and Sewer Authority announced it has flushed water mains in the Hideaway Hills neighborhood overnight from Tuesday, March 31 into the early hours of Wednesday, April 1. The work will focus on Marietta Drive, Joseph Road, and Lois Road.
Officials say the flushing is necessary to address reports of discolored water following water main breaks earlier this year.
Residents in the affected area may continue to notice some discoloration Wednesday morning. In most cases, running cold water, especially from a lower-level faucet such as in a basement or first floor, should clear it up relatively quickly.
If discoloration persists for an extended period, homeowners are encouraged to contact the Horsham Water and Sewer Authority at 215-672-8011.
The Authority apologized for any inconvenience, noting the work is part of ongoing efforts to maintain water quality and improve the system following recent issues.
