The Montgomery County Commissioners have announced Erin Murphy Boyle as the County’s new Director of External Affairs. Erin joins the County with over two decades of experience working with and advising state and local government agencies, cultivating trusted relationships and developing public-private partnerships.

“Erin is a long-time Montco resident, and she’s worked in state and local government for 25 years as an advisor and as a staffer in bipartisan administrations. She’ll be leading our external affairs office to leverage and strengthen relationships across the County,” said Neil Makhija, Chair of the Board of Commissioners. “Our goal is that we collaborate effectively with all 62 townships and municipalities, 50 police departments, 22 school districts, and our state and local representatives in Harrisburg and Washington. With millions in funding at stake, strong coordination with our partners is essential to making sure we can best serve everybody in Montgomery County. We’re really excited to have Erin on our team to help us continue and build on these efforts.”

“Erin knows the needs of Montgomery County — from living here and serving in the community to advising government agencies and administrations,” said Jamila Winder, Vice Chair of the Board of Commissioners. “The County can only create programs that genuinely support our people and our communities by building and maintaining strong local relationships and partnerships — whether that’s strengthening health and human services, getting local support for new initiatives, or investing in innovative local projects.”

Erin comes to the County from her most recent role as Associate Director of Health & Public Service at Accenture, where she advised state and local government leaders in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, offering innovative solutions to their operational and fiscal challenges. She also previously served in a similar consulting role for EY for ten years, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Governor’s Action Team in the administrations of Governors Ed Rendell and Tom Corbett.

“I’m pleased for the opportunity to bring my experience of building strong, bipartisan relationships and public-private partnerships to help create positive impacts in my home County,” said Erin Murphy Boyle, Director of External Affairs. “Ultimately my mission is to bring the best out of Montgomery County’s potential, to strengthen our communities, and enhance the quality of life for all our residents.”

Erin lives in Lower Merion Township and currently serves on the Montgomery County Community College Board of Trustees.
