Hatboro is about to get a new reason to slow down and savor the day.
Sweet Baby’s Tea Room, a cozy and charming tearoom, is set to open its doors at 109 N. York Road on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025. The brainchild of Rockledge resident Maryanne Cirigliano, the tearoom reflects her lifelong love of tea, community, and the small joys that make afternoons special.
The name “Sweet Baby’s” is a nod to Maryanne’s granddaughter, Gianina, a personal touch that captures the warmth and family-focused atmosphere Maryanne hopes to create. “I wanted a space where friends and families could gather, enjoy a comforting cup of tea, and feel at home,” she said.
The menu promises a traditional afternoon tea experience with a modern twist. Guests can indulge in a full afternoon tea, featuring a rotating selection of teas paired with sweet and savory treats. Signature offerings include freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, a daily savory scone, a house salad, soup of the day, and a daily savory special. Every item is prepared fresh, with seasonal ingredients highlighting the flavors of each day.
The tea room itself is designed to be intimate and inviting, with seating for around 25 guests. Maryanne envisions the space as more than just a place to enjoy tea—it’s a venue for connection, conversation, and even small community events
Sweet Baby’s Tea Room will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and reservations are encouraged, especially for weekend visits. For Maryanne, the joy is in seeing guests leave with a smile and a renewed sense of calm. “Tea has a way of slowing life down,” she says, “and that’s exactly what I hope people find here.”

From the business website:
A good cup of tea is like therapy - it can embrace the good times; provide a new perspective on challenging moments; offer warmth when you are cold or cool you down when you are hot; and it imparts a sense of calm when you are anxious. Tea fixes everything!
A shared pot between family or friends, together with good conversation; celebrating milestones or just a way to relax, is perfection! From an early age, a hot cup of tea has always been an experience of comfort.
From the time I was a young girl, I remember sitting at my Irish grandmother’s kitchen table watching her prepare the pot, measuring out the tea leaves, pouring it when the time was just right and then enjoying the sweet flavor. Afterwards she would read the tea leaves left in our cups. Then there were those “bubbles” that would sometimes appear in a newly poured cup. My gran, mother and my aunts referred to it as “money in your cup” and would delight in the magic, folklore and superstitions in those pours. I cannot say I understood it all at the time; but what resonates to this day was time well spent and a tradition that lives on. Tea, for me, represents life in all its forms; there's no other beverage that comes close.
The shop name Sweet Baby’s seemed appropriate for the warm and gentle vision I had for a tearoom. Those loving words I uttered the very first second I laid eyes on and held my beautiful granddaughter Gianina (Gi) close to my heart. It is my way of honoring her. It warms my heart and makes me very proud to work alongside her and grow together in this business. She will forever be my Sweet Baby.
At Sweet Baby’s Tea Room, we have created a welcoming atmosphere to sit, relax and enjoy the social benefits of tea, enhanced by the experience of sharing the fellowship of tea with friends and family.
TEA it’s so much more than just sipping, it’s a way of life! Where there is tea, there is hope. We look forward to establishing you in our lives and our hope that you will come to appreciate our little piece of Hatboro heaven.
