Veterans who left high school to serve in the military now have the opportunity to be recognized with a diploma through Hatboro-Horsham School District’s Veteran Diploma Recognition Program.
“Whether through personal choice or the call of the draft, these individuals faced the extraordinary burden of leaving high school to defend our freedom—a reality few can fully imagine,” said Dr. Dennis M. Williams, Jr., principal of Hatboro-Horsham High School. “By awarding these diplomas, we seek to acknowledge both their service and the education they so selflessly set aside.”
The program is open to honorably discharged veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War who meet the following requirements:
Residency: Currently live within Hatboro-Horsham School District boundaries OR lived in the district at the time of or after enlistment.
Documentation: Submit appropriate verification, such as discharge papers or proof of residency.
Veterans who already hold a high school diploma are not eligible. Diplomas may also be awarded posthumously if proper documentation is provided.
Applications are due by Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025. Family members may apply on behalf of veterans.
A recognition ceremony is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, with full details to be shared with those who apply.
