Jalen Hurts' performance Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City Chiefs may not have lit the world on fire, but his comeback against Chris Jones certainly burned.
The Philadelphia Eagles were kneeling out the clock against the Chiefs on their way to a 20-17 victory. Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones decided to talk a little trash, and Hurts responded in kind:
Chris Jones: “You don’t even have 100 yards.”
Jalen Hurts: “We won the fucking game shut your ass up.”
Hard to argue with that.

Understandably, there's some bad blood between these two teams. The Chiefs prevailed over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, and the Eagles got theirs over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
On top of that, considering those two Super Bowls and three additional regular season matchups, the Eagles and Chiefs have played each other in each of the last five years. They're very familiar with each other.
Jones, 31, has been an excellent player for the Chiefs since they drafted him in 2016. He's played in all five of those Chiefs-Eagles matchups from 2021 to 2025. So has Hurts.
Now, Jones wasn't actually correct. Hurts did have 100 yards passing in Sunday's victory; he had 101, to be exact. But Hurts has reiterated time and time again that his personal statistics are not his main focus, and he hammered it home yet again in his postgame press conference.
"The game isn't necessarily won off of fireworks, it's won off of scoring more points than the other team, and so that's what we're able to do," Hurts told media.
"That's complimentary football. That's what it's about. In the end, you play the game for one reason. You play the game to win. Nothing more, nothing less. And I'm happy that we were able to find a way to win."
Hurts walked away with 101 yards and the victory. Jones walked away with two total tackles and the knowledge that the Eagles had bested him once again.
