Department want to help parents and guardians feel informed and prepared. They are hosting a special evening with the School Resource Officer and local detectives designed specifically for families of incoming 9th-grade Hatboro-Horsham students.
The event will take place on Monday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Horsham Township Community Center. Attendees will have the chance to learn directly from law enforcement about how they work to support students and keep the community safe.
During the session, parents and guardians will explore topics such as building positive relationships with School Resource Officers and local police, recognizing trends in risky teenage behaviors, and understanding safe use of cell phones and social media. Officials will also discuss the risks and consequences of juvenile crime, and provide helpful resources and contacts for families.
