The Montgomery County Commissioners welcome Tiffany Thomas as a new deputy chief operating officer for the County.
Thomas manages the County’s human services operations, with responsibility for the Department of Health and Human Services, Correctional Facility, Youth Center, and Department of Public Safety.
“Tiffany brings a wealth of leadership experience to the County, including large private sector industries with significant government interaction, complex contract negotiation, and leading large, multi-layered employee teams,” said Neil Makhija, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “Her experience leading large teams and streamlining operations will make sure the County’s departments run smoothly and continue to deliver the support our residents rely on every day.”
Tiffany most recently served as Regional Vice President of Sales & Operations for a multimillion-dollar operation spanning 11 states, where she built high-performing teams, drove operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across a complex, multi-branch organization.
“The work of our Health and Human Services departments touches thousands of lives. Tiffany’s leadership will build on the progress we’ve already made so that our public safety operations run efficiently, and County services reach our most vulnerable residents — from children to seniors,” said Jamila Winder, Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. "I look forward to collaborating with her to deliver programs that help our neighbors thrive and get the support they need.”
“Tiffany’s background in public safety and managing large organizational teams is a strong asset to the County and to the departments she oversees,” said Tom DiBello, Montgomery County Commissioner. “I have confidence that the departments she leads will operate effectively for the betterment of our residents.”
“I'm excited about the opportunity to bring strategic, collaborative, and innovative leadership to Montgomery County, working alongside a talented and dedicated team to drive effective and responsive operations,” said Tiffany Thomas, Deputy Chief Operating Officer. “As Deputy Chief Operations Officer, I look forward to fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and service that delivers real impact for the community.”
