Sen. Maria Collett brought together seniors, service providers, and community organizations on Oct. 17, 2025, for her annual Senior Services and Wellness Hub at Generations of Indian Valley in Souderton.
The free event, held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., offered a “one-stop shop” of resources designed to help older adults access vital information, health screenings, and state services, all under one roof.
More than 20 local and state agencies participated, providing direct assistance and expert guidance to attendees. Representatives from organizations such as the Pennsylvania Treasury Department, SEPTA, and area health providers were on hand to help seniors claim unclaimed property, sign up for free senior transit fare cards, and receive vaccinations and wellness screenings. Students from DeSales University’s physical therapy program conducted basic health checks, while pharmacists from Giant Pharmacy administered flu and shingles vaccines.
“Making sure Pennsylvanians can live and age with dignity is a top priority for me as a registered nurse and as the Democratic Chair of the Senate Aging & Youth Committee,” said Collett. “Our goal with the Senior Hub event is to remove barriers and create a space where older adults can connect directly with the services and resources available to them and their families.”
Participants also had the opportunity to connect with nonprofit agencies, local government programs, and advocacy groups offering information on housing assistance, caregiving resources, and aging-in-place initiatives. Lunch was provided to guests who pre-registered for the event.
Senator Collett, who serves as the Democratic Chair of the Senate Aging & Youth Committee and is a registered nurse, emphasized that the Hub is about more than just information, it’s about accessibility and empowerment.
