Montgomery County launched its annual winter campaign as officials solicit donations from area residents to help those in need.
A trio of donation drives were slated to take place over the next few months, with Co said in a statement issued last week.
A winter clothing drive will accept donations until Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, according to a Montgomery County spokesperson. While men’s and children’s sizes were listed as the “greatest need,” electric space heaters, blankets, hats, scarves, and gloves will also be accepted.
Montgomery County’s Thanksgiving food and gift card drive continues through next month. Non perishable food items can be donated until Friday, Nov. 14, and people can donate $25 gift cards to area grocery stores through Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Additionally, a holiday toy and gift card drive will be held from Monday, Nov. 3 until Monday, Dec. 24. Donations help to “support low-income families during the holidays by donating new toys and gift cards,” according to a Montgomery County spokesperson.
Participants can drop items for the aforementioned drives off at the DeKalb Center Norristown, 1430 DeKalb St., at the facility’s main entrance, located off of Green Street. Gift cards can be sent to [email protected] or mailed to Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Attn: Veronica Hilghman, 1430 DeKalb St, PO Box 311, Norristown, PA 19404-0311.
