Police arrested a 42-year-old Abington Township man after he allegedly displayed a firearm during an altercation inside the Regal Cinema on Easton Road on Friday, Oct. 3.

According to Warrington Township police, officers were called to the theater around the time of the incident after several moviegoers reported that another patron, identified as Esra Jesse Wallace, 42, had become disruptive during a screening. Witnesses said Wallace cursed at them and told them to “shut up” before revealing what appeared to be a handgun tucked in his waistband.

A theater manager who approached Wallace was allegedly warned to stay back as Wallace reached toward his waistband, police said. Wallace then left the theater, got into his vehicle, and drove off at a high speed, nearly hitting an employee who had followed him outside.

Horsham Township police later located and detained Wallace on Horsham Road. He was turned over to Warrington officers and taken into custody.

Police said Wallace declined to allow a search of his vehicle. Both he and the car were transported to the Warrington Police Department, where he was processed and arraigned. His bail was set at $50,000, or 10% cash.

Unable to post bail, Wallace was taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Investigators later obtained a search warrant for his vehicle and recovered a handgun.
