The Horsham Township Police Department and Borough Council recently recognized Officer Greg Wittmer for his outstanding 30-year career in public service.
After three decades of dedicated service, Officer Greg Wittmer has retired from the Horsham Township Police Department. His tenure began in 1995 as a dispatcher, and he was sworn in as a police officer in 2000.
Throughout his career, Officer Wittmer served in various capacities, including Patrol, the Highway Safety Unit, and the Motor Unit. His professionalism and commitment to public safety earned him numerous accolades, including a Department Commendation in 2009 for his bravery in apprehending an armed offender.
In a statement reflecting on his career, Officer Wittmer expressed gratitude for the support he received from his family, friends, and the residents of Horsham.
He noted, "That's a tough question. But I've enjoyed the varied assignments I've held here. I'm most certainly thankful for the support I've received from my family, friends, and the residents."
The Horsham Township Police Department and the community extend their heartfelt thanks to Officer Wittmer for his exceptional service and wish him a long, happy, and healthy retirement.
