Game Con Live will take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greater Philadelphia Convention Center in Oaks, Montgomery County. This gaming, comic, STEM and pop-culture experience is intended for kids ages 5-15.

Guests will have the chance to meet and interact with YouTubers and actors including BeckBroJack, DirtBoy, Sirud and Aaralyn Anderson as well as meeting Marvel/DC artists like Scott Hanna and Will Torres. The Cosplay Corner features the region’s largest fan groups competing for fun and prizes.

Other activities include playing and coding video games, live entertainment and contests, workshops in art, animation and more; build and race a LEGO brick derby car; free tabletop and card game lessons; a gaming and comics marketplace.

Mumford and Sons

Mumford and Sons perform Tuesday at 7 at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Stephen Sanchez and the Barr Brothers are the opening acts.

Pumpkin Palooza

Pumpkin Palooza is set for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading. The celebration will feature hundreds of hand-blown glass pumpkins, hands-on workshops, pumpkin-themed treats and family activities. Tequila Mockingbird will perform music, and there will be live pumpkin carving by artist and GoggleWorks Wood Studio Manager Derek Weidman.

Apple Festival

The Hay Creek Apple Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday at Historic Joanna Furnace in Robeson Township, Berks County.

Each day begins with the Hay Creek apple pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Throughout the day a wide variety of apple-based foods will be available. The 19th century Joanna Furnace apple cider press will be operating throughout each day. A variety of other food will be available as well along with wine and craft beer.

The annual Hay Creek Flea Market will be open both days. Family activities at the festival include scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, hay rides and face painting. Family fun activities start at 9 a.m. Six of the historic Joanna Furnace buildings will be open with garbed interpreters sharing stories.

Admission is free. A donation is requested for parking on-site. Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Historic Joanna Furnace is located off Route 10, 3 miles north of Morgantown. For more information, visit www.haycreek.org or call 610-286-0388.


Fall Festival

The Penn Township Fall Festival will take place Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at Penn Township Park in West Grove, Chester County. It fosters connections between local businesses, nonprofits and residents. There will be a fall craft show, music, food and drink and more. Haunted Hollow

Haunted Hollow takes place Friday through Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Jim Dietrich Park, 4899 Stoudts Ferry Bridge Road, Muhlenberg Township, Berks County. The park will transform into a ghoulish landscape. There will be a haunted hay ride, and the barn will be transformed for seasonal scares. Tickets can be purchased at muhlenbergtwp.com or at the event. This year’s event is cashless for ticket sales. Food will be available for purchase, and the vendors will accept cash. There will also be a DJ and a fun games area.

A Fail Family Fun Fest is scheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  It includes traditional hayrides, pumpkin painting, carnival games, magic and more.

Violent Femmes

OctoberFeast

The ninth annual OctoberFeast takes place Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Peddler’s Village in Lahaska, Bucks County. It includes food trucks, beer gardens, live entertainment and family activities, including larger-than-life creations at Scarecrows in the Village. Fall for the Arts

Chestnut Hill’s 41st Annual Fall for the Arts Festival takes place Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia. More than 200 artists and vendors will be there. Enjoy live art demonstrations, children’s activities, music, food and drink and boutique shopping. The event is family- and pet-friendly. Philly Music Festival

The weeklong Philly Music Festival begins Monday at independently owned venues around the region. Proceeds benefit local music education while paying artists fairly. Mary Poppins Tea

The Newtown Theater in Bucks County presents “A Mary Poppins Tea Party” Saturday morning.
