Every township relies on the dedication of its public works employees. These men and women are on the front lines when storms hit, the first to repair damage when infrastructure fails, and the steady hands that maintain the parks, roads, and facilities we depend on year-round. Their contributions, though often unseen, are vital to the health, safety, and quality of life in our neighborhoods.
Public works employees are the backbone of every township, working behind the scenes each day to keep roads safe, parks beautiful, and essential services running smoothly for the entire community.
Horsham Township recently recognized one of those employees, Jim Wright, for an incredible milestone: 30 years of dedicated service with the Public Works Department.
If you’ve enjoyed a sunny afternoon in one of Horsham Township parks, there’s a good chance Wright had a hand in it. From carefully mowing and maintaining the fields to ensuring the grass is always in top condition, his work has helped create the welcoming outdoor spaces that so many residents cherish. And when winter arrives, he is just as vital, out on the roads with a plow, working tirelessly to keep the community safe and moving during snowstorms.
Wright's history is rooted in Horsham. He grew up right here, learning the value of hard work on his family’s farm. Those early lessons carried over into a lifelong career of service to his hometown. Over the past three decades, Wright has not only witnessed Horsham’s growth and transformation but has also been a steady, reliable presence within the Public Works team.
Horsham Township officials congratulated Wright on this remarkable achievement.
"Thank you Jim for all you have done and continue to do for Horsham Township," officials wrote.
