If you’ve ever wanted to get more involved in the Hatboro community, now’s your chance.
The Borough is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to serve on several local boards and commissions that help guide the direction and development of Hatboro.
Residents interested in participating are encouraged to send a letter of interest to Borough Manager Diane Hegele at [email protected] or drop it off in person at Borough Hall, 414 S. York Road.
Below are the boards and commissions currently welcoming new members:
Zoning Hearing Board – Reviews requests for zoning relief such as variances and special exceptions, as well as appeals of zoning determinations.
Planning Commission – Makes recommendations to Borough Council on development projects, land use proposals, and zoning or land-development ordinances.
Shade Tree Commission – Oversees the care, removal, and planting of shade trees throughout Hatboro and manages annual tree assessments.
Historical Commission – Meets monthly to discuss Hatboro’s historic properties, reviews permits affecting historic resources, and manages the Borough’s historic inventory.
Environmental Advisory Council – Works to educate the community about environmental issues and supports initiatives that promote sustainability within the Borough.
Parking Commission – Advises Borough Council on parking operations and helps maintain safe, accessible parking options on Borough streets and in Borough-owned lots.
Joint Board of Appeals – Reviews appeals related to the International Building Code.
Property Maintenance Board of Appeals – Reviews appeals related to the International Property Maintenance Code.
Residents with an interest in preserving Hatboro’s history, shaping future development, enhancing environmental efforts, or simply giving back to the community are encouraged to apply.
