Joshua Baranowski, 31 of Horsham, is facing a felony charge after accidentally firing a gun into a neighboring resident's apartment, according to police.
Horsham Township police were dispatched to Blair Mill Village West Apartment complex on Alison Road after Baranowski called to report he accidentally fired his gun into his neighbor's kitchen.
According to police, no injuries were reported from the accidental rifle discharge.
According to police, Baranowski told authorities that he had accidentally fired his weapon inside his home. He also reported that the firearm had been unloaded following the discharge.
Upon arrival, officers found Baranowski and his girlfriend waiting in the parking lot. Baranowski admitted he had been drinking earlier in the night, and officers noted a slight odor of alcohol. He provided officers with his apartment keys and gave permission to enter and secure the firearm, which he said was next to his bed.
Inside the building, officers discovered the bullet had exited Baranowski’s apartment door through the door knocker, crossed the hallway, penetrated a neighbor’s apartment door, traveled through their living room wall, and eventually lodged in the kitchen wall. No occupants in the neighboring unit were injured.
Police recovered a Radical Firearms AR-15 rifle chambered in 5.56, along with an empty 30-round magazine, a second 30-round magazine containing 29 rounds, and the spent casing.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 19, 2025, at 10 a.m. before Judge Todd Stephens.
