James William Worthington, 35, of the 1200 block of Limekiln Pike in Ambler, is facing is an aggravated assault felony charge stemming from a violent incident after meeting a woman on Tinder, according to police.
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, around 5:25 p.m., Horsham Township Police were dispatched to a residence on the 1200 block of Limekiln Pike for a report of a man experiencing a seizure.
According to police, the caller reported that the man, Worthington, after regaining consciousness, was not cooperating and had become violent. As officers arrived, dispatchers could hear the victim screaming in the background.
Upon arrival, police could still hear screams coming from inside the home. Looking through a window, officers observed Worthington allegedly striking the victim with a closed fist. One officer forced entry through the front door, where he found the victim with facial injuries.
According to police, Worthington appeared disoriented with his pants off. Worthington was detained at the scene.
The victim told police she had met Worthington earlier that day through the dating app Tinder and went to his residence, where the two smoked marijuana. She said Worthington then began to suffer a seizure. After calling 911 for help, the victim stated that Worthington regained consciousness and attacked her, allegedly attempting to gouge her eye.
Horsham Ambulance personnel responded to provide medical attention.
Worthington now faces an aggravated assault felony charge, and other lesser charges. Bail was set at $50,077.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. before Judge Todd Stephens.
