The Horsham Township Police Department will once again host its annual Project Blue Light Ceremony this December, honoring law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and recognizing the ongoing service of those who protect our communities every day.
The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Horsham Township Community Center (1025 Horsham Road). Residents, families, and community members are warmly invited to attend.
Project Blue Light is a national initiative that began in the 1980s to honor fallen police officers. Horsham Township joined the tradition in 1999 with the planting of a memorial evergreen tree at Deep Meadow Park. Each December, the tree is illuminated with blue and white lights: blue for all law enforcement officers and white for every Montgomery County officer who has made the ultimate sacrifice.
During the ceremony, local leaders and law enforcement officers will offer remarks of reflection and gratitude. The event typically concludes with the lighting of the memorial tree, which remains illuminated throughout the holiday season as a beacon of remembrance and hope.
Community members are encouraged to place a blue light in their window or on their porch as part of the Project Blue Light tradition, showing visible support for police officers and their families.
