Jay Glazer says Eagles won't trade A.J. Brown, are interested in Jaelan Phillips

Jay Glazer provided a couple Eagles-related trade nuggets on this week's edition of "FOX NFL Sunday."

Ahead of the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline on Nov. 4, Glazer said the Eagles will not trade wide receiver A.J. Brown.

"No. A couple teams have asked about him, that is a hard no for A.J. Brown."

Brown missed last week's victory over the New York Giants with a hamstring injury, and has 29 catches for 395 yards in seven games this season. That's disappointing production, and Brown has continued to create speculation about his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts with cryptic social media posts. Eagles fans don't like to hear it, but it's not unreasonable to wonder about the future of Brown on the team considering they haven't gotten the most out of him the last two seasons.

With that said, the Eagles would be left with a $43.5 million dead cap charge next season if they traded Brown. That's opposed to the $23.4 million cap hit he'll have on the team. If there needs to be a change of scenery in the offseason, there are ways the Eagles could get creative, such as trading Brown after June 1 and spreading his dead cap hit between 2026 and 2027.

But that conversation can be shelved until the offseason. It will be easier to do that if Brown stays off of social media the remainder of the 2025 campaign.

While the Eagles won't be trading Brown, they do need pass rush help, and Glazer put a specific name out there.

"The Dolphins have a couple guys who could be available like [Bradley] Chubb, [Matthew] Judon and Jaelan Phillips. Jaelan Phillips is the most likely [to be traded]. A team like the Philadelphia Eagles, they have interest in him."

NFL Media's Cameron Wolfe reported something similar:

Phillips was a first-round pick out of Miami in 2021. He's playing on his fifth-year option, so this is a contract year for the 26-year-old. He has three sacks in nine games this season, and 26 overall in his career to this point.

Glazer said that there's a chance Trey Hendrickson could be dealt, but Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby won't be moved, so Phillips might offer the best chance for the Eagles to upgrade at edge.
