A student's emotional, social, and academic development is especially vital to their success.
Access to comprehensive counseling services is essential for students’ overall well-being, and the Hatboro-Horsham Board of School Directors is recommending the approval of a multi-year agreement with The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth to enhance mental health and counseling services across the district.
The proposed agreement, discussed at the recent May school board meeting, pending final review by the District Solicitor, would span from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, and may be funded in full or in part through federal or state grant allocations.
It would be "to provide student mental health services for the 2025-26 school year," said School Board member Theresa Brown.
Under this agreement, The Lincoln Center would provide three licensed professionals who would deliver individual and small group counseling services to students at the elementary, middle, and high school.
In addition, the partnership would introduce specialized mental health support, including a licensed creative arts therapist at the elementary level, a licensed mental health counselor for the middle school, and two licensed social workers serving both elementary and secondary school populations.
These professionals will work within the framework of the District’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Student Assistance Programs (SAP), both of which are designed to address students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs through a tiered intervention system.
The enhanced services aim to provide proactive and responsive support, ensuring that students receive the help they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.
