Public Works Departments are essential to the daily functioning, safety, and livability of cities, towns, and counties. They are responsible for building, maintaining, and managing the infrastructure and services that support communities.
National Public Works Week (NPWW) is an annual observance in the United States that celebrates the vital role public works professionals play in our communities.
Each year, NPWW has a theme. The 2025 theme is: “Connecting the World Through Public Works” — emphasizing the infrastructure and systems that link communities together locally and globally.
Public Works Departments are vital, especially in smaller communities like Horsham.
Recently, Horsham Township celebrated the many workers of its Public Works Department.
"We couldn't be more excited to spotlight our very own, Public Works team," Horsham Township wrote. "The backbone of our community!
"This years theme, "People, Purpose, Presence," reminds us that its the people behind the scenes whose purpose-driven work ensures a strong and dependable presence in our daily lives!
"This week and every week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible work of our Public Works Department. From clearing roads and maintaining parks to managing infrastructure and beyond, their dedication doesn't go unnoticed!"
