Pennypack Farm & Education Center will be holding its Annual On-Farm Plant Sale on Saturday, May 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., rain or shine.
This event invites local residents to visit the farm and shop for a wide variety of organic plants and fresh produce.
Visitors can expect an impressive selection of organic vegetable, herb, and flower starts grown right on the farm. Favorites such as cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, lettuce, kale, basil, zinnias, and cosmos will be available, according to an announcement.
"We have carefully chosen varieties that we know do well in our area," Pennypack Farm & Education Center wrote. "These are the tried-and-true varieties we also grow on the farm. We choose seed from reputable seed companies like Johnny’s, Fedco, High Mowing, and more. You also won’t find some of the varieties we have at your big box garden centers."
In addition to plant starts, the event will feature fresh spring vegetables offered in a farmers market-style format, along with a variety of local goodies and seasonal treats. It's a wonderful opportunity for attendees to support local agriculture, connect with the farming community, and enjoy a morning outdoors.
All proceeds from the sale go directly to support Pennypack Farm & Education Center’s programs. These funds help sustain educational initiatives, outreach efforts, and the farm’s ongoing mission to promote sustainable agriculture and food systems. Each purchase made at the plant sale plays a part in supporting this vital work.
Community members are encouraged to arrive early for the best selection.
