According to multiple international sources, white smoke has been seen over the Sistine Chapel, signifying that a new pope has been selected.

In order for a choice to have been made, according to the AP, 89 of the 133 cardinals participating in the traditional conclave, or a two-thirds majority, must agree on a selection. No announcement has yet been made detailing the decision.

White smoke signifies that the conclave has made its selection. This was the group's third voting round, according to ABC News.

More news will be shared as it is made available.
