Hatboro residents have spoken highly of Officer Swoyer, crediting him for his well-mannered, calm, and caring attitude even during emergencies, often stressful situations, according to the Borough.

"To Officer Swoyer, being a Police Officer was so much more than protecting and serving our community," the Borough wrote. "It was fostering strong, personable relationships with residents, building trust, earning respect, and teaching accountability. Staying true to these values, Officer Swoyer emphasized building a rapport with Hatboro’s youth and served as a Field Training Officer for the Department to ensure the next generation of Officers cherish our community as much as he did."

Officer Swoyer was also part of the Montgomery County Drug Task Force and the Montgomery County Major Incident Response Team, serving residents throughout the county and surrounding region.

"Officer Swoyer is an absolute asset to the Hatboro Police Department and Borough of Hatboro as a whole," the Borough wrote. "He will be extremely missed by his colleagues and the citizens of Hatboro. Although his time as a Police Officer has come to an end, the legacy he leaves behind will continue to positively impact residents for years to come. We wish Officer Swoyer the best in his well deserved retirement!"
