Andrew Capponi, Jr., 28, and Jason Kuepper, 37, face multiple charges for stealing checks from a business on the 300 block of Red Lion Road in Huntingdon Valley in October 2024, according to police.
The Lower Moreland Police Department was contacted by the business owner and told police that multiple checks from their accounting office on Oct. 17, 2024 were missing. Video footage confirmed that a suspect entered the facility on Oct. 16, 2024, and was seen exiting with stolen checks on his person.
On Oct. 21, 2024, Capponi, Jr. and Kuepper tried to cash the checks at United Check Cashing, https://www.unitedcheckcashing.com/. The victim was contacted by United Check Cashing about the possible fraud.
On Nov. 27, 2024, Capponi, Jr. tried to cash another stolen check at Cottman Check Cashing. The transaction was denied and the check was not returned to Capponi, according to police.
Capponi, Jr. was a former employee of the Red Lion Road business and resigned in 2022.
Detectives were able to obtain arrest warrants for both males and charged them.
Further investigation revealed that Kuepper had cashed one of the stolen checks that was not issued to him, nor did he have permission to possess it.
