Sen. Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery) will host a telephone town hall on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the recent federal actions that threaten the accessibility of quality and affordable healthcare for Pennsylvanians. The event aims to inform the public about the potential impact of these actions on healthcare, with a focus on proposed cuts to key programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, and CHIP, as well as the reduction of medical research funding and threats to healthcare infrastructure.
Joining Senator Collett for the discussion will be two experts in the field: Danna Casserly, Co-Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Health Law Project, and Dr. Arina Chesnokova, a physician and associate professor. The town hall will include a panel discussion on these pressing issues, followed by a live question-and-answer session where participants can engage directly with the speakers.
The public is encouraged to register and submit questions in advance through Sen. Collett’s website, SenatorCollett.com/TTH. Additionally, an audio livestream of the event will be available on Facebook at Facebook.com/SenatorCollett.
The telephone town hall is an important opportunity for residents to learn about how federal actions could affect their healthcare and what can be done to fight back.
