To support families in navigating the path to higher education, Sen. Maria Collett (D-12), Rep. Nancy Guenst (D-152), and Rep. Melissa Cerrato (D-151) are coming together to host a College Prep Night on Thursday, March 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Simmons Elementary School, 411 Babylon Road, Horsham.

This free, informative event is designed to help students and their families understand the college application and financial aid process. Representatives from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) and the Pennsylvania Treasury will provide expert insights on key topics such as:

  • Financial aid opportunities – Grants, loans, and work-study programs available to Pennsylvania students.
  • Scholarships – How to find and apply for scholarships to reduce college costs.
  • PA 529 College Savings Program – Understanding how Pennsylvania’s tax-advantaged savings plan can help families prepare for future education expenses.
  • FAFSA application guidance – Step-by-step advice on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to maximize financial aid eligibility.

Following the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session, allowing families to get personalized answers to their most pressing questions.

How to Register

Families interested in attending can sign up online or call Rep. Guenst’s office at (215) 259-5962 for assistance.

This is a great opportunity for families to gain clarity on the college admissions process and ensure they are well-prepared for the next steps in their students' academic journeys.
