The Horsham Police Department continues to recognized its officers for their exemplary work performed throughout the last year.

In a recent ceremony, the township celebrated and honored these officers with numerous commendations. A group of police officers was recognized for their work in stopping an active burglary and were able to detain three suspects.

Officers receiving commendations were:

  • Officer Andrew D’Arcy
  • Corporal Kathleen Ryan
  • Officer Anna Kumor
  • Officer David Breznicky
  • Officer Joseph Kelley

According to the Horsham Police Department, in the early morning hours of Dec. 3, 2024, officers responded to a report of a  burglary in progress at a home in the Talamore development. Officers converged on the home and the first responders confirmed that it had been burglarized. Home security footage showed three subjects fleeing the residence, according to police. A K9 and drone were requested from neighboring departments to assist in tracking the suspects while Horsham officers quickly set up a perimeter to contain the suspects.

Shortly after deploying the K9 and drone, the drone operator reported subjects fleeing from the pursuing K9. The drone observed two of the suspects getting into a car and fleeing onto Tennis Avenue. Horsham Police officers quickly located the vehicle and effected a vehicle stop. The two subjects in the car were identified as the suspects that had broken into the home in Talamore. They were taken into custody without incident.

A short time later, the third suspect was located by officers at the 7-11 in Maple Glen and taken into custody, as well.

Due to these officers’ quick response and teamwork, three burglars were taken off the street. These three subjects are suspected to be part of an organized ring responsible for multiple burglaries throughout Montgomery and Bucks County.
