As of Monday morning, some Horsham residents are still without their power and electricity.
According to officials, Horsham Township is still experiencing a total of three separate power outages throughout the township, all of which are the result of the severe weather that passed through the area over the weekend, which brought strong winds, heavy rain, and significant tree damage.
The first outage is located in the vicinity of Moreland Avenue, where a large tree was brought down by the high winds. This fallen tree has impacted utility lines in the area and continues to block part of the roadway, which may also be contributing to delays in utility repair efforts.
The remaining two outages are reported in and around the Hidden Creek neighborhood, where residents have been without power since shortly after the storm moved through, according to officials.
PECO crews have been notified and are aware of the situation, though we have been informed that they are currently dealing with a high volume of outage reports across the region.
At this time, PECO has not provided an official estimate or specific timeline for when power will be fully restored to the affected areas.
"We understand how frustrating and difficult this can be, particularly for those with young children, elderly family members, or anyone who depends on electrically powered medical devices," Horsham Township officials wrote. "We want to assure all residents that we are in active communication with PECO and will share updates as soon as they become available."
In the meantime, local officials are helping with some relief to those who need it. The Horsham Township Library, located at 435 Babylon Road, will remain open today from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.. The library is fully air-conditioned, offers access to public Wi-Fi, and has power outlets available for device charging. It is a suitable and welcoming place for residents still without electricity to cool down, recharge phones or laptops, and access online information. Families are encouraged to take advantage of the facility to escape the heat and remain comfortable while restoration efforts continue.
"We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation as crews work diligently to resolve these outages," Horsham Township officials wrote. "Please continue to check in on neighbors, especially those who may need extra assistance during this time. For urgent medical concerns or emergencies related to the power outage, don’t hesitate to call 911. If you require a cooling center outside library hours or have other needs, you may also dial 2-1-1 to speak with a United Way resource coordinator."
